Re: [RC] And The Rains Came... And Came... And Came... - Stephanie E Caldwell
>>We had all our rain last weekend. This
weekend it is beautiful and the transmission went out in the truck!!
Argghh.....
You guys are going to have to email me at the funny
farm if it doesn't quit it's danged raining! We've had ONE sunny day to ride in
sixteen now. We've logged more rain in the last two months than we did March -
September of last year, this is just unbelieveable. Last year at this time hay
was scarce because we were in a drought, now it's scarce 'cause no one can
cut!
>>Last weekend, we went to the Scioto Run. As
usual, Mollie put on a fabulous ride. And, as usual, there was a monsoon. Our
wedding plans got changed from riding up to the scenic ridge to standing under
the camper awning at ridecamp. The minister's prayer included the bulldozer
pulling everyone's rigs out of the mud. That was kind of a new one for
me....
Congrats! That's the kind of wedding I want if/when
I ever get married. After fighting with my parents for eleven years about time I
spend with the horses and the money I spend on the horse single life is lookin'
better and better... Unless I find me some good looking cowboy. LOL
Not to mention, with all the rain hoof and skin
fungus problems abound. My horse has thrush, beginning scratches, and rain rot.
I tried to medicate her today, but it thundered real loudly and she reared
up in the cross ties, she's usually pretty unflappable. My barn aisle was so wet
that she sunk in raelly deep when she sat back. By the time I got up to her head
and had her undone (thankfully my panic snap was against the wall, I keep mine
with one against the horse and one against the wall), she'd gotten herself into
enough trouble that she went down on her side. Decided to abandon thoughts of
spraying something on her and try again tomorrow.
Steph (It's raining again.... One more day closer
to insane!)
