Re: [RC] A little peeing problem........ - Heidi SmithMy wife Ginger's Arab often has a strange peeing problem after a serious ride in that he seems to want to pee frequently but very little or nothing happens. He spreads 'em and drops and stands there till maybe a little trickle appears, then stands there some more, then moves on. He does this several times an hour for about 24 hours following the strenuous work. It has also happened, though only one time, with my mare, Solitaire. We have been told they are not getting enough e-lytes. We have been told they were given too much of the e-lytes. Has anyone else experienced this, and what was your solution? I've seen this several times, and in my experience, it has more to do with back discomfort than it does with having to pee. Check bloodwork post-ride for signs of tying up, check saddle fit, and check with a chiropractor....
