[RC] Free Choice Mineral Supplements-Susan G, please advise - Jerry & Susan Milam

A few weeks ago I asked for advice about our arab-pony and her diet. The consensus was to muzzle her full time. I was concerned at the time about her ability while muzzled to acquire sufficient minerals/salt during the summer while the muzzle was on.

I built a tower of 3 tires with a large flat bowl inside filled with a free choice mineral suppliment that is labeled for beef cattle. This way she can free feed for her mineral needs with the muzzle on. I was thinking of getting some goldfish to put in our 75 gal rubbermaid tank, but everytime she goes for the minerals she gets a nice drink in the tank and minerals in the muzzle fall into the tank. Maybe there would be too high concentration of minerals in the water for the fish to survive?

The horses all love the Sweet Mag stuff , so I'd like some feedback as to it's appropriateness for horses, specifically distance horses.

It's called "Sweet Mag" and marketed by Ragland. Ingredients follow: TIA
