Re: [RC] Wilderness - MerrybenI am not sure who is on what side cause I got into this late. However, I have always been anti Sierra Club. Their approach is to get rid of everybody. I have always considered them a little militant. The example that always comes to mind is that if you have a perfect little valley with a stream that the animals come to and a tree falls up above and blocks that stream and dries it up, you can't take a chain saw in and fix it. That seems ridiculous to me. This natural stuff can get way out of hand....... I have direct access to three parks from my place and two of them allow bicycles. I have not really had a big problem with them. Once in a while they seem unfriendly but the one time I met one on an uphill trail and he came over the top right in my horse's face, who promptly dumped me, he was totally concerned and it was not his fault. I have not had much if any encounters with ATV's or motorcycle cause they just are not there. Last year when we were doing the Quicksilver Ride at Coe Park there was a guy on a bicycle with 10 lbs of carrots for the horses. mb =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
