Unfortunately, my solution would have been
something like just eat a bit more (an extra stop at Burger King every day) and
gain the weight. That way it's spread evenly over my body (more or less,
some thigh, some arms, some gut, etc). By riding carefully, my horse will
get used to carrying the extra weight, and it won't be "dead" weight (at
least not till I get my heart attack or stroke).

PS: Just so you know, this is part of my insidious
plan. I'll have everyone gain weight so my weight won't be such an
issue.
It specifically says on the entry that no water
bottles can be weighed in with the rider. But aside from that, where can
one buy the weight pads? I need to add at least 10 pounds, which is a
lot of dead weight to add to the horse. Do the weights in the pads shift
at all? That could be bad news over 100 miles. Anyone out there
have any more comments, advise or ideas about this?
