Re: [RC] [Guest] Trailer ramps - Jennifer Judkins

I've had both types of trailers.  I would go with a step up any day.  I haul lots of different horses.  More of them are leary of the ramp than the step up.  My friend's little morgans load up through the side door of their stock trailer, no problem.  I think if you are planning to go to ridecamps, a ramp will hinder you more than help, limits where you can set up camp. Most people I know with ramps are show people.  Just my experience.  Jennifer.

Our Sundowner trailer is jacked up an additional 3 inches. There wasn't a
problem unloading my tall Anglo from this trailer, but I now have a shorter
horse and I feel that the step would be too high for him. Have any of you
used a ramp or had one added to your trailer? How do you like the ramp,
does it hold up well or get bent in time with horses walking on it? Is it
slippery when wet? Would appreciate any comments.
