Re: [RC] [RC] thoughts for hithing a ride - DIANE L KNAPPERTeresa, those are great ideas and some that I make note of since a few of us hitch rides on a regular basis. However, somethings to give consideration to are the skills of each hitchhiker. Some are better cooks than others and that is their job, while others don't mind mucking out the pen, still the other can start a mean campfire. If you are going to travel together, you need to find persons that can compliment the others weaknesses. And also, you need to be flexible. If your driver wants to stop at Dairy Queen for a blizzard...kick back and enjoy your Blizzard while she drives :-) I've done a lot of hitchhiking and cleaning out the trailer afterwards isn't always an option because of location, my horse is dropped off first. I've also done a lot of the driving and I tell you what if my passenger is more than willing to scoop poop to clean our campsite, I'm more than happy to let her. To look at a fair division of chores is probably unrealistic...somebody is always going to be unhappy. If anyone is looking for that, they probably shouldn't be traveling with anyone other than their significant other.
