Re: [RC] Pacing - superpat----- Original Message ----- From: <rides2far@xxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 06, 2003 9:41 AM Subject: [RC] Pacing The person sits there on their walking horse as I trot by, the rubberband attaches from their horse to mine. The farther my horse trots away, the harder that rubberband tugs my horse backwards, then at a critical point the pull is just too much for the walking horse and he gallops up on us and past us.......< ... Worse yet is when I am at a steady trot and can see a rider walking far in front of me. As I get just a few yards from the horse in front, the rider realizes I am there and asks his/her horse for a fast trot...(anything to stay in front of me). Generally they are unable to maintain the pace and slow (often on a very narrow part of the trail so that passing is impossible). Then, once I pass them, they latch onto my horse and try hard to stay hooked on. Often, I sense that their horse is struggling to keep up and the rider is too bent on keeping up to be aware of the fact that their horse may not be up to the pace...... This is an irritation I can do without. Pat ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
