For a number of reasons, I'm hoping to
transition my gelding onto a diet of Triple Crown Complete (beetpulp-based,
low carb and high fat feed from Southern States), supplemented with additional
beetpulp and stabilized rice bran as needed, and a bit of chopped
alfalfa. Plus, good green grass this summer and free choice grass
hay.
However, the ingredient list (see
below) for TC Complete (almost at the end of the list) includes "Yucca
Schidigera Extract", and I'm concerned that the yucca could show up in a
drug test. Should I be concerned? Do the feed tags for Purina's
Complete Advantage or Pennfield's Enduroevent Ener-G also include
this ingredient (the full ingredient lists are not provided on their
websites)? Buckeye's Cadence and Training feeds do not include
it.
If I go with a feed from a manufacturer other
than Southern States, I'll have to spend a good deal of time driving
around in order to get it, but I will do so if
necessary.
