The day was very cool, the overnight temp was 24 degrees, I don't think the beet pulp could have fermented in that temp, and I was at the hold by 10:30am, so still not hot at all. In fact there was some ice in the bucket from the hard freeze that night when I arrived at the hold.

Plus, this has been an ongoing problem and I have not mixed carrots and apples in his beet pulp before this ride. I think for Strider at least, he just cannot tolerate beet pulp.

I would be very interested in what Susan G has to say. And remember, that my Vet told me that he is seeing more horses cramping and they are on beet pulp.
