Re: [RC] Saddle search/saddle fit - SullivanKathy wrote: After riding in a Boz & orthoflex, I realized how uncomfortable the Bighorn had been for ME! While it is soft & light, I needed more support than it could give. The Boz fit me best, but not my horse. I got to say......I know everyone likes different things......but on Friday ride with a big group of ladies, we livened things up by switching horses just for fun. Everyone on the ride (7 ladies) had sport saddles, so it was easy to switch, not even change stirrup length, but let legs dangle, etc. My friends daughter rode my friends horse (who has the smoothest gaits), in the girl's Bighorn. I thought it was the most uncomfortable thing I have every sat on! It was hard as a rock, and so rigid I felt that the movement of the horse was UNDER this piece of board I was sitting (while the saddle sat still and did not move with the horse) ...so that I could not experience the lovely gaits.....fortunatly for the horse; he came back with dry spots on either side of the withers, so it will be the last time he has to suffer THAT saddle. On the other hand, one lady had a sport saddle with only a sheepskin seat cover; and I felt like the rest of the saddle was slick as a slide.....so I guess I am hooked on my comfy full fleece cover! Still a Sport saddle fan! Karen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
