another saddle choice for that short backed horse is the bighorn endurance saddle. it is lightweight, comfortable and versatile. also, doesnt cost a ton of money. i use mine as a training saddle and have used it on many different horses. i have never had a problem with sore backs, rubs, or anything like that. ed
