Re: [RC] sneakers for riding - Jim HollandWell Dang, nobody asked about that! Ya see..whatcha do is go to REI.com and order a pair of Goretex pants...just the shell. They have zip legs so you can get them on and off over your boots. Easy to carry...they weigh nothing. Slip them on over your tights, wrap once with duct tape to your boots...and ride DRY! In addition, they block wind...so are useful in the winter as an extra layer over the tights. 'Course you will need a waterproof jacket of some kind with a hood. (Actually, I prefer duct tape over the helmet holes) Actually, if it rains hard, you're gonna get wet anyway, no matter what you do. I like the boots because they keep my feet dry thru all the mud, bogs, creeks, and water splashing. When it *really* rains "waterproof" actually means "will hold water". I've ridden with a junior who had water funneling down her half chap into her "waterproof" paddock boots which had water running over the tops.
