Re: [RC] Endurance & Pregnant Mares - Truman Prevatt

I rode my mare when she was in foal in a ride or two. The last one when she was 7 months along. I rode her till she was 10 months and drove her the day before she had her foal. The foal hit the ground a was galloping that afternoon - all that training he got in the womb ;-).

I did check with an endurance vet before  She said the exercise will do her good as long as you don't ask her to do more than they are used to, i.e., it would not be wise to do your first 100 when you have only been doing 50's. So going from 50 to easy 25's you should be good to go.

I hope to just take it easy and ride slowly......
I don't want to do anything to jeopardize her baby or
her.

Thanks
