RE: [RC] worming for tapeworms - Snodgrass, Bonnie

When I said single doses of pyrantel wormer I did mean single tubes of paste wormer not the daily wormer. The daily wormer has I believe only 10% pyrantel. It would be interesting to know for sure how that compares to pyrantel paste wormer. I don't have any tubes available now to check. Does a tube have 5x or 10x the amount of a daily wormer? You shoulb be able to  feed a larger quantity of the daily wormer to achieve the same results. But I'm not a vet,and not giving recommendations. Just considering the options.

If a horse is on the Strongid daily wormer, would it take care of tapes?

I wouldn't be suprised if giving single doses of pyrantel wormer, several
days in a row would also kill the tapes but a double or triple dose on one
day works and is cheaper.
