Re: [RC] [RC] Endurance Carolina Style: Prequal - Typef

Should clarify that my husband is a professional big rig trucker with a
truck license. It is different for him than it is for Joe Q. Blow. You're
right that pickups all have commercial licenses but it's the fact that he
has a Class I or A license that would make a 1-ton pickup part of his fleet
and subject to the BIT inspections. That's why we don't have one. He also
just told me that anyone can pull a 3-4 horse trailer but if it's a
gooseneck, you need a medical green card. What a bunch of hooey!

That's not true.

I drove a 1 ton Dodge daily for 6 years.

Not sure about any other state but in California, if you have a one-ton

inspected
every year because it would then be considered part of his "fleet"
which
consists of only one transfer truck rig. So ... we're not getting a
one-ton!

Howard ... I love your stories, man, but ya gotta put 'em up together
otherwise I go CRAZY waiting for all the other parts!!!

Every state is different and the RV lobby is very powerful in getting
loopholes in the law regarding RV's. It is not unusual to see these
huge
motor homes dragging along trailers as the snowbirds enter and exit
FL -
all presumably legal.

34 feet plus a 3 horse on it? I thought you had to have a special
license after a certain length. My husband said something like that,
at least in Ga. you have to have a class III or something like that
don't you?(he used to drive the fireengines in volunteer dept. )
Cause I said something about dragging a popup behind our gooseneck...
and he said he'd have to get a different license to pull that much
length....
