[RC] Shoes and Vermont - Stagg_NewmanRene, When people say dirt roads in Vermont, they mean HARD gravel roads, particuarly in mid-summer. Very tough footing on horses. Recommend you talk to some locals like the Rojeks, Greenalls, or Snooks to see what they use. I think you need the best shock abosorbing pads or shoes you can find. At the Pan Ams I had steel shoes with pads. Pads were not good enough in terms of shock abosrbent. Jayel Super finished fourth and look good at finish. Next morning when I was planning to show for BC he was grade 3 lame with a quarter crack. In '99 Drubin was 2nd in the 100 with Equithotics. They worked well but had to be very careful on the grassy trails and the muddy sections which they also have. So believe best advice is to do as locals do. BTW the scenery is great and the hospitaliy even better. Best of luck, Stagg +---------------------------------------------------------+ This message may contain confidential and/or privileged information.
