Your info on the vetting reassures me that many of the pulls were mostly tough vets rather than over riding. And unwillingness to push a horse in extreme conditions when a top finish is not likely. It certainly requires different strategy to race in the desert than in the mountains. I hope one day there will be a world event somewhere like Big Horn, Tevis, Old Dominion etc. Probably not likely. There was a World Championship held at the Old Dominion trail, in 1988 I believe. Although they changed the trail to make it less difficult. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
