Re: [RC] Shoes vs. Boots for Road Work - Maggie MieskeKaren, My husband is a farrier. One of our firends/clients has had great success with Old Macs boots. We are pretty impressed with them and I have a couple of horses we'd like to try them on. (I think there are some other folks on RC who have tried them.) I know they sell them on their webpage which I think is www.horsevillage.com. If that's not it, let me know and I'll double check it. Where are you located? I don't recognize your name. We get down in that area sometimes and maybe we could meet for coffee sometime. Let me know. As a side note...if she doesn't NEED shoes, then let her go barefoot. I ride my stallion all over the gravel roads in the spring until it's almost ride time and then I (or rather Nelson) put shoes on. He's never ouchy. Depends on the horse. Maggie P.S. Are you a member of GLDRA yet? That'll get you lots of good Michigan info on rides, etc. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
