Re: [RC] [RC] Riding up steps, encountering falling rocks and mud holes - Laurie DurginHand walk a horse up steps first,I don't hink I'd like to risk riding up them without lots of training, my boy climbs up rocky, rooty 30-45 degree hills alot.Falling rocks??GET OUT OF THERE FAST!!!!!HANG ON !!!! Mud holes (the Mudder trucks and dirt bikers and 4 wheelers have done this to my trails. DO NOT ride into any mudhole , you do not know what may have been dumped in there or if the bottom is level or deeply rutted. I know some holes when dry are 4 feet deep where the dirt bikers have gone over and over. But the hole it only a foot wide or something.Had experience with one horse going ain and finding a deep "cliff" and stumbinging . Another had a mushy looking top , and he went down on his knees as he got "stuck" in something .I always ride around or onthe edge, unless I "know " the hole. Good luck Laurie and Rascal (the mudder horse) From: Judi Daly <judiemail@xxxxxxxxx> To: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [RC] Riding up steps, encountering falling rocks and mud holes Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 07:59:52 -0800 (PST) _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
