Re: [RC] news on world cup? - Maryanne Stroud GabbaniDon't know anything about the World Cup. The American schools in Kuwait were evacuated to Egypt, although most of the kids who came have been telling the local young ones that "they don't see why." Apparently there were no signs of problems that the kids were aware of them, but you can't blame the parents wanting their kids far away. The US embassies are usually right up there to move folk if they feel any danger, and so far they haven't. There are huge ex-pat populations in the Gulf area and I haven't heard of anyone being evacuated other than the Americans in Israel. If I hear anything I'll let you know. It's business as usual in Cairo and there is a big national jumping competition in Sharm el Sheikh this weekend.Maryanne Cairo, Egypt On Monday, Mar 17, 2003, at 20:50 Africa/Cairo, Steph Teeter wrote: Anybody out there know what the scoop on the Dubai World Cup is - I know we =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
