[RC] Fix soft hooves from Keratex - CatLyn1388Good to hear there is positive?news flowing on the web about Keratex. It is a great product. That?is the reason we became the?importers several years ago. We saw first hand the results on our own horses.? You are lucky not to have any thrush problems. If you should encounter some in the future, the?Frog and Thrush product is excellent. ? Use the Keratex Gel on the frogs, and the heels if you want. It will balance the moisture,?stop them from absorbing too much water, and becoming too soft because of the excess water. Use it daily. If your horses have thick, strong hoof wall, and normally keep shoes on well, the gel may be all you need.?It?is that?water that softens the hoof wall, like your fingernails get soft in water, and allows the nails and?shoes to come off. ? If the hoof wall tends to break or crack easily, and shoes come off with or without water problems, use the hardener. It would be a good product to use now if your horse's hooves are missing pieces. By applying the hardener, the hoof wall will be strengthened and allowed to grow down without further breakage. The hardener also has the property that the gel has, of balancing the moisture level. If you do endurance riding, the hardener is excellent on the sole of the hoof. It will strengthen it, preventing a lot of bruising and abscesses from stones or gravel. Do not use the hardener on the frog/heel. ? The two products should not be used together.?One would stop the other from working. But, you can use the gel on the frog/heels, and use the hardener on the sole/wall of the hoof. ? Hope this answers your questions.?Please do not hesitate to email us again with any further needs. ?
