[RC] Training schedule? - FASTGraphicOkay. I will be doing a 50/50 (2 day 100) in mid April - the incredible Hog Wild. Have not done a ride since last summer, but have been conditioning rather steadily - working from LSD to more speed and more hill work. Solitaire is about 6 1/2 years old and now has about a full year of pretty good conditioning. Her pulsing is getting better, but she is no Arab! LOL Rode 18 miles yesterday at a nice, steady 8mph trot - and she pulsed down into the low 50's within 10 minutes at the 10 and 18 mile marks with no sponging (it was in the mid 70's to about 80 degrees - God love So California). My question is this - what training regimen would any of you suggest for the next approximately two months? I am available to work her whenever necessary and have access to awesome trails - sandy washes, long tall hills, nice dirt roads, windy single-track, etc. Should it be every other day? 5 days a week? Lots of speed? Plenty of LSD? A strong mixture of all of the above with some hills thrown in? I really want to get it right this time, and peak at the ride - not over or under doing her beforehand. PLEASE make some suggestions - and be as detailed as you like?
