Re: [RC] itchy tails - Jon . LindermanI hate overly simiplistic observations so forgive me my 2 cents worth on the issue. My wife's arab gelding rubbed the dock of his tail for as long as she had him which was well over 20 years. 4H pictures, class A shows, at best he had a passable resemblance to a tail with concotions homemade and store bought. 2 years ago we started the daily strongid wormer and all of our horses just blossomed in tail growth, including old itchy himself. She commented over the past year about how wonderful his tail had become so long after his show days were over. My arab/saddlebred gelding would rub a little when I got him a few years ago, now he has this tail that would be the envy of most class A show horses. Not saying this is the only source of itching, but it had some amazing effects for us.
