Re: [RC] re: price of gas and milk - Heidi SmithA gallon of milk in Santa Cruz, CA costs $3.89. Just bought some today. Yipes! We MUST have cheap milk in Idaho! Even up here in the Back of Beyond, milk is usually $2.09 a gallon, and yesterday I bought some on sale for $1.88. (I KNEW there was SOME compensation for putting up with the drifts in the driveway! <g>) The obvious difference between milk and gas/diesel that Bob failed to mention is that one's milk consumption doesn't go up every time one wants to go somewhere. And I can also get to work in the morning on a whole lot less milk than I can fuel--even though I AM a confessed milk addict.
