Re: [RC] [RC] [Guest] hard to shoe horse - superpat
Having just returned from a visit with my horse to the chiropractor, it
occurs to me to ask if your friend has eliminated the possibility that the mare
may have some pain when her back legs are lifted. Just a suggestion...
She could try the clicker training for something like that.
Teach the horse to stand quietly at a target, then to pick up it's
feet. Shouldn't take alot of time to do and she'll need some
cooperation from her ferrier to get her horse to be good with him
also.
My
friend has a mare that is impossible to put hind shoes on. She is
looking for any and all information on what to do to get this mare to
accept shoeing on her hind feet. In the past the mare has been
tranquilized, but she prefers to solve the problem. If you have any
ideas you could send them to her at Layne@xxxxxxxxxxx. She would really
appreciate
it. Thanks.
