As to other breed organizations and their
rules/awards for horses competing in
endurance/competitive trail, so far I know that there
are some (with variations) for Appaloosas, Morgans,
and Paso Finos. All of these I believe DO keep track
of mileage and completions, in addition to the some
hi-point awards -for example the Paso Fino horse
association has CTR high-point horse of the year,
Endurance-high point horse of the year and pleasure
trail high-point horse of the year [thank you for all
of the very useful information, Ed!]
So there is definitely precedent out there, its not
like we are drawing something out of thin air for
APHA...
