Title: Women and Makeup

I admire a certain older East Coast lady rider who always appears made up, coifed and fresh looking, no matter how hard the trail, so I decided at one ride (10 or more years ago) that I would try to be a little more 'pulled together'.  This lady and I were both riding the 100.  Everyone took great notice of the fact that I entered each vet check with my lipstick on....at the awards (she beat me) when they announced my place and that it was the first time I had ever ridden this particular horse, she stood up and announced in he great southern accent that I "did it with my lipstick on".  One of the great points of my career!!!

A certain West Coast rider came back from the Pan Ams and NC noting that the women where and reapply makeup at vet checks back East.  It was a novelty for her, so you can be assured that it may be a regional thing!

I myself hasnt seen lipstick on my lips since the Christmas party on a SF Bay cruise!
