Fw: [RC] [Guest] Riders of Endurance Stallions-I have questions - firedancefarms

We've ridden several stallions in endurance, including Fa Al Badi+/, whom I
    rode 3500 miles.
The best advice I can give you is to keep your stallion with other horses
    so
he understands that not every horse he comes across wants to breed. He may
get a few lumps at first, but it is worth it in the long run. Put him in
with geldings, another stallion, or a mare not in heat...whatever works
safest. This is possible, as we just got a new seventeen year old straight
Russian stallion in and I don't think he's ever been with other horses and
he is hardly broke. Within three days, he had shoes on, been on trail with
my old mare, and is living happily with her. He will be doing some slow
    50s
this spring. Yes, he got kicked a few times, and he has a bruise on his
shoulder, but he is a better behaved boy now!

The next thing I can tell you is ALWAYS carry a crop and be ready for
anything. Do not ever let him neigh, squeal, or even "look cross-eyed" at
another horse. This is very important. If you let him get away with a
neigh or nicker, next time it is a squeal, then a strike, and then you have
     an uncontrollable horse.

     Hope this helps!
