Re: [RC] riding out - Alice Yovich

At my old barn I took my daughter with a friend on a lead line on the road one time and it scared the life out of me. Dogs chased us, cars raced around us. It seemed like everyone was driving home right at that moment and had to get around us. Maggie froze and acted like a total passenger while the pony lugged behind on my lead. I decided not to take her out again till she was better in control. I'm hoping to get her out on a trail over Christmas though (this was last winter that we had the trouble) I'm think thinking to take my husband on foot (he doesn't ride) and for us to go on a walking ride with him there as an extra hand.

When I have gone down the road in groups, especially with KIDS, I would ride

    them to slow down!
