[RC] elevator rides - Nancy Mitts
To add to what Jim said:
Once you elevate, you are "out" of the shorter distance. If you don't
complete the distance you elevate up to, you don't get the completion at the
shorter distance. Yet, you get completion only for the distance you elevate
UP to. No placement points for the longer distance.
There used to be a ride in the Central Region that was set up as a
elevator--but I don't think many people used the option.
IMO, if you're moving up in distance, in most cases you're DOUBLING what
you've completed before. It's best to start out with the mindset that's what
you're going to do, and manage your ride accordingly. If completion is very
important to someone, it may be harder to give up a sure thing than to ride
farther. If it doesn't matter so much, why not enter the longer distance to
begin with?
