Re: [RC] Leg confirmation in High Mileage horses - Tina Hicks

One time I was at a ride and I was watching horses vet through with Nina
Warren and she made
the comment that she didn't even bother guessing which horses would do
well at a ride (or long term).
I asked her why and she said had seen too many that had great
confirmation (so theoretically should have gone thousands of miles)
came up lame
early on and others that looked like they shouldn't go 10 feet and stay
sound (due to some obvious fault) end up racking up many, many miles. I
think her words of choice included "crapshoot" and "luck" :)
This is from someone who has over 6000 miles just from 1985 on and
many wins and BC's to her name.
