Woo! $715 for the PrePurchase Vet Exam?
I had one done at the Elgin Vet Clinic in Elgin Texas (they do mainly
racehorses and big dollar roping horses) and it cost me about $400.
I took my ex-racehorse Ryk there just before I bought him.
They put a scope down his throat to check if he was a roarer, did flexion
tests, did three x-rays of each foot, and one of his knees and hocks,
trotted him out both directions, made him turn sharp circles and backed him
up, bloodwork, eyes, teeth, P&R before and after the lunging work. Very
busy afternoon.
I felt pretty confident. He screwed up his back six months later and the
same vet said it was a pre-existing condition.
Thanks for the sour persimmons, cousin.
I believe in PrePurchase Vet Exams, but they're not infallible.
