This reminds me of an experience of mine.  I was riding along behind another
rider when she told me that she didn't want me "drafting" on her horse.  I
hadn't realized that I was doing that; I thought I was being polite for not
passing her.  She told me I had to do my part and help lead part of the
time.  I explained to her that I had thought I was being polite, and then I
passed her a short way and helped lead her horse along for several miles.
It was an interesting perspective and a lesson well-learned.
