I buy mediums then go to a shoe shop and have them cut the top couple of
inches (including first velcro) off. Costs me $10. Last time I even went
to an alterations shop where they  did it in about 10 minutes. They
didn't seem to know how much to charge so I just told them the shoe shop
at the mall did it for $10 and they said. "O.K."  Sure don't miss having
the extra height folded up behind my knee!
