[RC] Calories Burned Trotting - AprJhn
Consider a person weighing 130 pounds. According to various online sources, that person riding a trot for 1 hour burns:
382 calories: http://www.healthstatus.com/healthseva/cbc.htm
384 calories: http://www.e-stable.com/caloriesBurned.asp?activity=trotting&weight=130&weightMeasurement=pounds&timeSpent=60
384 calories: http://www.nutristrategy.com/activitylist4.htm
264 calories https://www.tahitiannoni.com/us/tahiti_trim/exercise_calorie_chart.htm
369 calories: http://magazines.ivillage.com/goodhousekeeping/diet/calc/spc/0,12876,284562_295614,00.html
Ok, so my point is that trotting can burn lots of calories. Multiply 369 by 12 hours or so and you get a calorie expenditure of 4400! That's a lot of calories! It's not like sitting on your couch. :)
