[RC] Tecopa Hot Springs - steve shaw
WELL, as much as I hoped and dreamed that some part of the bureaucratic
system and or parts of BLM or AERC might intervene and save me from
doing this... The Tecopa Hot Springs (which are VERY nice) Endurance
Ride will actually take place.
I sit here parked with my horse which is very content with the water to
drink and his baths for the dust, which are warm and not too saline.
Last night it was only 41 degrees but got up to 75 plus in the day. It
can get colder, but hopefully won't.
If it does, SORRY!
We have a good trail, but not the one that I really wanted. If you want
to know more about that, look at the trail in the area down the
Amargossa River or talk to some of the locals....enough said...maybe in
the future.
The Hot Springs are Really neat in the camp area and in the County
Facilities. We will be having an "Interesting and Historically Correct"
presentation at the campfire after the ride meeting. I do recommend this
as it is authentic and mostly geared to the gender doing this sport.
(OK, somebody shoot me...)
Sorry, this ride will be all of 50 miles, but fun, lots of water, Date
Shakes! and many sights.
Who knows what the weather will bring, but the community and BLM want to
make this happen and be fun. We'll just have to see. In any case there
will be PLENTY of hot water....Oh, send for entries to sshaw@xxxxxxxxxxx
or show up if you can find it. Just out of Shishone and Tecopa at the
county hot springs..
