Thank You for writing a letter on an issue that obviously needs to be addressed.  There is a minimum age for drinking, driving, etc, and in a sport that is considered "extreme" to most.... there should be a minimum age for the participants.  In this sport medical help is not always right around the corner and the members of this organization would feel awful if a child were seriously injured, but why do we have to wait until that happens.   Children not only gain alot by participating in activities, but
training and looking forward to the day that they reach the age to participate.

    Thank You again...

I will not write this in an attacking manner as you have put this so logically.
I just want to add that skiing is considered an extreme sport.  Their is no medical help right around the corner and yet their is no age limit to competing in ski competitions.  I know because I did.

Don't mean to bring up the skiing comparison again but it is the perfect analogy.
