Re: [RC] AERC Single Day Membership (was non-member fees (wasDirector at Large)) - John Teeter
There is the single event membership fee.
There are two sides (at least to this);
a)the "why do they have to be members?" side
b) the "what does it cost" side.
There is the need to insure that all entrants in a ride agree to be bound
by the rules of the ride.
AERC members agree to follow the rules and are subject to protest should
they have difficulty living up to their agreement.
Non member entrants aren't bound by anything beyond what's agreed to on the
ride registration and the AERC protest mechanism has no affect upon them.
The current AERC By-Laws define the "Single Event Membership".

I don't think the proposed new bylaws refer to single day or single event
memberships.
Would this mean that, if the new bylaws are approved, there will no longer
be a $10 fee charged to non-AERC entrants as well??
(Joe, do you support the new bylaws?? >g< )
as to what it costs, less than 5 days (or a months:) worth of hay? 7
gallons of fuel. 5 gallons of milk. 1/10 th an average cheap pickup tire.
etc. or, from Joe's point of view too much if it's more than 0...
