[RC] Our next step - Marinera
I would like to congratulate our Team USA of Beverly, Steve, Cia, Heather,
Valerie and Kathy for taking on the challenge of competing in a World
Endurance championship. It did not turn out the way we had hoped but they
all gave their best effort and for that we admire them.
I do not know what the AERC protocol has been in the past but I would like to
make a suggestion that our national organization compose a letter of
congratulation to the French, Italian and Australian national endurance
organizations as well as to the individual gold, silver and bronze medalists.
I would like to see it signed by our AERC president and, if possible, by our
chef d'equipe and each team member. On this particular day in time an and
space they were better than we were. We have much to gain by being gracious
in defeat. And hopefully we are classy enough to take it stride, learn form
the experience, make no excuses, hold no ill will and start preparing for
2004 when we will have the opportunity to rise to the top once more.
And let's make sure our team and their crews receive a hearty welcome when
they return to U.S. soil
Julie Suhr
