Yes, that's Gayle's recommendation and I agree. Worst case scenario, your
horse may not need them and will just pee them out in a few hours, and
you've ggoten in some practice syringing on the trail. Best case, your
horse stays closer to fully hydrated at all times.
I find that on

I agree. It would always be better for them to drink at every opportunity,
not hang on until they're home. If a syringe of e'lytes pushes up the
plasma sodium during the ride, they're probably more likely to drink on the
trail.
