Re: [RC] Shoes? - Cheryl Ann
Hi All -
I second the orthotics. I have two pair, one for my work shoes (12 hours
shifts on the shop floor), and one that I use in all my other shoes and
boots. Custom made, not those Dr. Scholl things. Like SG says, quite pricey
to buy, however the reservation paid for mine... :)
I also take my orthotics with me to the store when I'm buying footwear.
You may also want to try support hose (not the stockings, they fall down). I
wear them in the cooler weather, they are too hot in the summer (although
I'm forcing myself to wear them now that I'm back to work from my vein
surgery). How about summer weight wool socks, and /or sheepskin inserts (if
you've got enough room in the shoe). You can even just cut a small piece to
fit at the ball of your foot if that will work. Are your stirrups padded?
For shoes, I'm wearing Nyke cross-trainers and/or Roper (can't remember the
type off hand, Cross Riders ?, dunno).
Hope this helps -
