Ridecamp: [RC] WEG shake down!

John called and left a message, a long one.  Everyone is fine, but 
they had quite an adventure while driving into Madrid.  The truck 
and 2 vans were pulled over on the expressway to wait for their 
escort to the stables.  A car pulled up with two men and a man 
who identified himself as a police officer, and showed a badge, 
went to the van with Jeannie (driving), Cia and Bob Beecher in it.  
He asked for passports and questioned them as to how much 
money they were carrying and if they had any weapons!  He 
reached in and started frisking Jeannie, then went to Cia.  They 
were pretty shook up!  He then slid into the back seat with Bob and 
demanded his passport and wallet.  By this time they realized that 
something was seriously wrong but were unsure as to how to get 
the man out of the van.  To their relief, he returned Bobs passport 
and wallet and left.  However, when Bob checked his wallet, he 
realized that over $1000 was missing!
Everyone is OK and happy that nothing worse happened.  They 
wanted me to warn everyone coming over to be cautious of anyone 
asking for identification and to hide their money.  Geesh!
The horses are doing great and they head for their final stabling 
tomorrow.
