If you antibody test the horse, and he is
positive on an antibody test(titer), in all likelihood, there is no West Nile
virus in the horse, because by the time he has a significant antibody titer, the
virus has already been cleared and he will be immune. SOOO, the
vaccine may or may not boost his immunity further but should do no
harm whatsoever (barring anaphylaxis). Being exposed by nature would be a
far better immunization than the processed vaccine. Revaccination in one
year would still be recommended.
