[RC] Water at MI rides - Rides 2 Far

Just got back from GERA ride in Georgia (where management shipped in
firetruck after firetruck of water! :-) and was surprised how many
Southeasterners said they had gone to Shore to Shore. Things that are
"pretty well known" are usually learned through word of mouth. These
days lots of groups are going to rides out of region looking for some new
scenery. Ride management needs to allow for the fact that there may be
some who simply saw it on the ride schedule and have no idea what is
"well known" in your little corner of the world. Maybe locals could be
helpful in giving outsiders tips on where and how to get water to the
checks ahead of the horses. From what I heard it was best to have 2
crews working together to leap frog. That's the sort of thing it would
take me a couple of years to figure out. :-P
Heard several talking about wanting to go a multi-day out west next year.
Maybe managers of rides that draw from distant regions should have a
"first timer's" info sheet that could prepare them for any little
idiosyncracies.
Not mentioning water not available to me is a pretty big oversight. Not
providing it is no sin, but not mentioning it could be a motive for
murder.
