I put my horses in my will, although the will itself is handwritten, and may
not stand up in a court of law. I made it before I had surgery a couple
years ago. My horses go to my riding partner to dispose of because she will
make sure they get good homes, or she can keep them herself if she wants. I
would never leave them to a family member, as my family doesn't know or care
the first thing about horses. My riding partner and I see eye-to-eye on care
and training issues, and I know that whatever she did would meet my approval.
She wouldn't just sell them for the money, I boarded with her for almost 5
years and she loves them like her own. jeri
