We
just had the same discussion at the EHSC ride yesterday. It seems like it has
always been 1 hr at the finish. The vets at the ride had always interpreted it
that way. So it was left that way for this ride as many people did not return
for a check within a 1/2 hour since they didn't know either. And we
discussed it and many of us felt the rule should be clarified to clearly state
it is 30 minutes at all control points during the ride but 1 hour at the finish
of an endurance (50+) ride. If they start trying to do 30 minutes it just
adds more work to the RM, the horses have to come back twice for the top 10
showing BC, etc.
So good point and maybe the BOD
or rules comittee can discuss this at the upcoming board meeting.
