My ex-racehorse, speed freak started to take off last night on a ride, I
pulled his head over to his left shoulder and made him circle until he
calmed down, this worked for me this time.
My first horse was a TB off the tracks, this guy would take off to the point
where you would have to run him into the side of the indoor arena to stop
him. He's 26 now and the girl I've loaned him to still has an occassional
problem with him running away. He's had tons of ring and dressage work ,
he's just a real jerk sometimes.
