Re: [RC] Help with mileage for a newbie :).... - Tiffany D'Virgilio
After reading Angie's post I am very grateful. About 15 months we decided to
move to our current town for a variety of reasons. It turns out to be a
horse owner's and endurance rider's dream spot. From my place I have hills,
twisty stuff, rock galore, fireroads galore, manicured trails through both
the town and woods, and no less than three natural water ponds and crossings
within an hour's ride from my front door. I could go 50 miles in either
direction, except south. I have pavement, I have an equestrian center, just
about everything. We have a riding club 600 strong who raised 8800 dollars
for a rescue sling to mountain rescue and are one of the first communities
to train with the FD about horse rescue. We have monthly shows, playdays and
rides. The town is about 70% Arabian, so nobody makes fun of Ay-rab owners.
And the best part? No bugs!
I never want to relocate, unless is to a big ranch someday. I only have a
1/2 acre, as are most of the lots here, but have a large arena and a 4 stall
barn. I love the variety of terrain-it is really great! Alta Loma,
California in case you are wondering:)
Tiffany-finally mailing in my NRR ride entry form today!
