Re: [RC] Pacers at Tevis - Rob
Why doesn't everybody quit wining! Next time you enter a ride and you
know Potato is going to be there, strap yerself on some of those old
spurs the medieval knights used to wear. The kind the guys that wore the
heavy plate armor used, with 3" diameter spiked rowels on the end of 8"
gaffs so they could reach under the plate armor the horse wore. Sit and
wait for a loudmouthed, inconsiderate, cursing, shoving, pushing,
plowing, ego-testicle pea brain to come along Blitzkreiging his way
through the crowd and gaff his horse in the flank as it blows by you.
Then sit back and enjoy the show. After that happens a couple times
people might start thinking about how their less that polite actions are
affecting the other less bent on winning riders waiting for the start.
Competitors that treat the other competitors on the trail with decency
and respect regardless of their placing and experience As well as the
dollar value of their horse, rig and tack, will almost always get
treated with decency and respect. Those that want to start a ride acting
like Genghis Kahn leading a Mongolian horde out for a day of pillaging
and plundering should by treated like any other member of the WCJA
(World Championship Jousting Association). Sniveling and whining cause
rules to be written. Rules regulate an otherwise enjoyable activity to
the point that it's no longer enjoyable, and eventually out of
existence.
